Privacy Policy

Version 2.2 · Effective October 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what UWish LLC ("The Wishing App," "we," "us") collects when you use The Wishing App, and what we don't. The short version: there are no accounts, your wishes are never stored, and we don't track you.

1. Your wishes

When you toss a coin, the words of your wish travel to our server along with the name of the well you chose. The server checks the wish isn't longer than 500 characters, adds one to that well's wish count, and discards the words. They are not saved to any database or log, not read by anyone, not analyzed by any person or AI, and not shared with anyone.

The only thing that remains is the number: one more wish at that well.

This isn't just a promise we're making. It's how the system is built. If you ever want to check our word against the code, ask.

2. What we don't collect

You don't create an account, so we don't ask for your name, email, or any other personal details to use the Service. (If you choose to support the wells, Stripe or Venmo collects what it needs for the payment; see section 4.) We don't use advertising trackers, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics, and we don't build profiles of visitors.

3. Technical information

Like any website, our pages are delivered by a hosting provider whose systems may record standard technical information about requests, such as IP address, browser type, and time, for security and reliability. We don't use that information to identify you.

To keep bots from flooding the wells, our server briefly holds your IP address in its short-term memory to count how many wishes it has sent in the last minute. It's never written to storage or linked to any wish, and it's cleared once that minute has passed.

4. If you choose to support the wells

Support is optional and happens on Stripe's secure checkout page, not ours. Stripe collects your payment details and an email address for your receipt. We never see or store your full card number. From Stripe we receive what any business receives for a payment: the amount, date, email address, and limited payment details such as card brand and last four digits. We use this only to keep records, meet tax obligations, and answer questions about a payment.

A support payment is never linked to any wish. The wish page and the payment page don't share anything with each other, and there's nothing for them to share, since wishes aren't kept. Stripe handles your payment information under its own privacy policy.

If you choose to support the wells through Venmo instead, the payment happens entirely in Venmo, under Venmo's own terms and privacy policy. We receive what Venmo shows any business: your Venmo name or username, the amount, the date, and any note you add. Venmo is a social app, so depending on your Venmo privacy settings, your payment to us may be visible to others in Venmo. You can make it private in Venmo before you pay.

5. If you contact us or sponsor a well

If you email us, we'll receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply. If a business sponsors a well, we collect the contact and billing details needed to run that sponsorship. Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe; we don't store full card numbers. Sponsors never receive any information about visitors or their wishes.

6. What we don't do

We do not sell or share personal information. We do not monetize visitor data. We do not use your wishes for anything at all beyond counting that one was made.

7. Who we share with

Only the service providers that run The Wishing App (our hosting platform, Stripe for support and sponsor payments, and Venmo if you choose to pay through it), and authorities when required by law. If UWish LLC is ever part of a merger or acquisition, the little information we hold may transfer with it, under this Policy.

8. Accounts and wishes from before this version

Before September 24, 2026, the Service used accounts and stored wishes under our previous Privacy Policy. That information hasn't been used for anything new since, and remains protected as that policy described. If you had an account and would like your account information and any earlier wishes deleted, email us from the address you used and we'll take care of it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, including Colorado and California, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. For most visitors, we hold none. If you've made a support payment, we hold the payment record described above, which we keep as long as tax law requires. To make a request, email support@thewishingapp.com.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

11. Security

The strongest protection is keeping nothing: we can't lose or leak wishes we never stored. For the small amount of information we do hold, we use reasonable safeguards, though no system is perfectly secure.

12. Changes

When we update this Policy, we'll post the new version here with a new version number and effective date, and keep earlier versions available in the version history below.
